I wanted some extra light around our coffee station, but I really didn’t want to open the wall or have another power cord running across the backsplash.
I ended up putting two rechargeable light bars under the upper cabinets.
The magnetic mounting has probably been my favorite part. When they need charging I can just pull the whole light down instead of trying to plug something in while it’s still mounted.
Most of the time I leave them in sensor mode. They come on when I walk into the kitchen early in the morning and I don’t have to reach under the cabinet for a switch.
I started with the warm setting, but after a few days I switched to 4000K because it looks a little more natural on our countertop.
For this small section of the kitchen, wireless was much easier than turning it into an electrical project.

The current 9"/12" rechargeable cabinet light offers 3000K / 4000K / 6000K, 10%–100% dimming, magnetic mounting and three working modes: Always On, Off and Sensor Mode. In Auto Mode it detects motion within approximately 16 ft / 120° in a dark environment and switches off after about 30 seconds without movement.

The easiest way to choose is to start with where the light will be installed and how permanent you want the setup to be.

Best when you want to avoid new wiring. The current collection includes rechargeable motion lights, puck lights, oval lights, pebble lights and several magnetic linear light bars.
Plug-in
Better for frequently used work areas where continuous power is more convenient than recharging. The current 16"/22" light bar uses plug-in power with hand-wave ON/OFF control, 3000K / 4000K / 6000K selection and 10%–100% dimming.
Hardwired
Best for a permanent installation where you don’t want batteries or a visible plug-in adapter. The collection currently includes 3W hardwired puck lights in both 90–130V and 200–240V versions, with warm or daylight white and multiple finishes.

I’m adding lights inside a built-in wardrobe and I’m seeing round puck lights, oval lights and the smaller pebble-style lights.
They all seem to do basically the same thing on paper.
I have a few narrow shelves plus one larger hanging section. Is there any practical reason to choose one shape over another, or is it mostly appearance?

The basic purpose is similar, but the physical shape can make one style easier to place.
Puck lights work well when you want several individual light points across shelves, cabinets or cubbies.
Oval lights give you a slightly longer light surface while still staying compact and use rechargeable motion-sensor operation with magnetic mounting.
Pebble lights are the smallest-looking option in the current range. The 1-LED model offers 3000K / 4000K / 6000K, motion sensing, 10%–100% dimming and magnetic mounting.
For a wardrobe with multiple small compartments, several compact lights usually give you more control over where the illumination goes than one long bar.

I’m planning lighting under the cabinets where we do most of our food prep.
We’re in the kitchen several times a day, so I’m wondering if rechargeable lights will just mean I’m constantly taking them down to charge.
The 16-inch and 22-inch versions have a hand-wave sensor and plug into the wall.
Would that make more sense for a work area that gets used every day?

For a frequently used kitchen work area with a nearby outlet, the plug-in version can be more convenient because it provides continuous power.
The current 16"/22" model lets you wave a hand within roughly 3 inches of the sensor to turn the light on or off. Holding your hand near the sensor adjusts brightness from 10% to 100%, while the color control cycles through 3000K, 4000K and 6000K.
Rechargeable lights make more sense when avoiding visible wiring and outlets is the priority.

Our pantry has one ceiling light, but once the shelves are full the lower corners are still pretty dark.
I didn’t want to run wires through the shelving, so I put the small rechargeable motion lights underneath a few of the shelves instead.
I didn’t actually need all eight in one place. I used six in the pantry and the other two ended up in a linen closet.
The motion mode has been the useful part for us. You open the pantry and the shelf you’re standing near lights up without having to touch anything.
I wouldn’t use these as the main light for the room, but for getting rid of those dark shelf areas they’ve worked well.

That’s a practical use for the 8-pack.
The current rechargeable motion lights detect movement from up to approximately 10 ft within a 120° angle, turn off after around 30 seconds without movement, and are designed to activate in low ambient light. LightingWill lists up to about 6 hours continuous use or 30 days in motion mode per full charge, depending on actual use.

I’m adding lights underneath two cabinets on either side of our kitchen sink.
Originally I was going to use rechargeable puck lights, but since this is a permanent kitchen renovation I’m wondering if the hardwired version makes more sense.
I also noticed those are listed as waterproof.
Would that be the better option for a location where there may occasionally be moisture around the counter?

For a permanent installation where wiring is already available, the hardwired puck lights are worth considering.
The current model is a 3W hardwired cabinet light available in 90–130V or 200–240V, with 3000–3500K warm white or 5000–6000K daylight white, and White, Silver or Black finishes. It is also designed to work with a compatible dimmer.
For installations close to sinks or other moisture sources, the complete electrical installation still needs to follow the applicable local requirements; the light’s own construction does not make surrounding wiring or connections automatically suitable for wet exposure.
